Lesson 8 World Cat
I have used World Cat a lot with my job.  The phrase I searched was preschool storytime.  The first title it brought up was Early Literacy Storytimes @ your library Partnering with caregivers for success. Siouxland Libraries actually owned this book along with 915 other libraries. When I clicked on the author it brought up other books the author wrote.

Click on subject gives more choices  Reading with 83% to Language Arts & Discipline 4%.

I have brought up the full record of, How Do Dinosaurs Say I love You.
The author is Jane Yolen and it gives the illustrator's name too.  the full record has a wealth of information such as publication, summary of the story, 8 additonal subjects, gene/form, notes that stated audience range, vendor, material type.

When I click on the author's name it brings up additional books the author writes.

Other First Search Indexes table offers millions of bibliographic records.  It includes records representing 400 languages, and I noticed it current information.

Oaister searching brought up endless information on SD.  It shows how to search with more terms, limit results, advance serach , and refine your search.  It has books, articles, and journals.  the "keyword" search brought up 13,704 results.  Would want to limit the results. I have never used this before.
Oaister is a place to get it all.  It seems to me it has endless information.

Camio search was wondeful.  I have never used this before.   It showed 63 works results from the word "sioux."  It showed the image, title, creator, date, type, museum that the item was at.  You can click on image view and bring up a high resolution full image.  This would be great for artist, locals wanting see artwork in the comfort of the library.  You can get additional education information on a link view and type link to view too. Wow!  This was neat!
